One Team, One Voice – Complete congruence…

The success of any business is based on a number of elements, one of which is the congruence of the team itself. A team that is split by internal disagreement is destined to fail. In an ever connected and on-line world, the washing of dirty linen in public is a growing concern for businesses of any size …

your team are the bedrock of your business

When one person openly criticises the latest strategy decision with anyone inside or outside the team, you will start to see things crack and eventually crumble into dust. This is a difficult place to get back from as your team is the bedrock for the business.

They deliver against the drive and ethos of the business so working together is key. It is difficult, if not impossible, to implement lasting change, key strategies and a sense of direction if your members are disparate in their approach.

So how do you get back from rock bottom? It’s not impossible, and this is where the power of your leadership comes into play. A good leader will fully engage with everyone in the team … and key players in surrounding teams … getting commitment and buy-in where required and ensuring everyone feels totally informed.

Unity of purpose and direction, albeit elusive at times, is one of the most powerful ways forward for teams, businesses and organisations no matter what the size. People want to feel like they have been listened too and that their views genuinely count. They want to know that lively open debate is encouraged, that they are part of a no-blame culture and that key decisions are not made in private.

Successful teams almost form an autocratic democracy. When the direction and decision has been made, everyone will buy into it and this will enable them to function collectively and create a position of strength and on-going success.

Create complete congruence in everything you collectively do and your team will speak with one voice … and as their leader, how great will that feel?

Be excellent …
